These Small Habits Help You Practice Self Love Everyday

With the time of COVID, our lives have collectively changed so drastically. Self-Love is a term that’s gained popularity in the last few years. A lot of people realized that now more than ever, we need something to ground us during these challenging times.
If you’re someone that doesn’t know where to start, that’s okay. If it’s your first time considering a self-love practice, we welcome you. Our hope is that you’ll come away from this post with the best possible practice for your life.
Self-Love is the full appreciation of yourself in the present moment. A lot of people may find this hard to do. We’re always thinking ahead, conditionally. ‘I’ll love myself when…’ fill in the blank, right? When I lose weight or when I get that promotion or when I finally buy a house.
We don’t have to wait for some indeterminate future to love ourselves as we are right now. Goals are great to have. Yet, appreciating yourself and everything about you is even more important. We must love ourselves in everything we have and don’t have. Everything we are and everything we’re not.
For some, it’s a hard ask, but with a daily ritual and a little bit of practice every single day, you can see your life start to change for the better.
What Does a Self Love Ritual Look Like?
The beauty of the self love ritual is that it looks different on everyone. There’s no right or wrong way to love yourself. No two self-love rituals look the same. If you’re feeling lost, we made a small list of the most popular ways that others practice self-love.
Remember that a little bit goes a long way. You can incorporate all of them in your life if they work for you. But for the unseasoned, one or two is an excellent place to start.
Mantra
Having a word or a phrase to encourage yourself can be life changing.
It can be as simple as waking up in the morning, looking at yourself in the mirror and saying your phrase three times.
When you’re feeling stressed out, take a moment to say your mantra to yourself. You may feel silly at first or that the mantra isn’t doing anything. But over time, we internalize what we tell ourselves. Your mantra will become second nature.
It can be as simple as “I am enough”.
This can lead to a perspective change. It can even decrease negativity as it comes up.
Kind words go a long way. It’s important to be kind not only to others, but yourself.
Meditation
Taking time out of your day for a meditation practice is huge. More studies are showing that meditation can improve everything. From cognition to an overall sense of well-being. Meditating can also improve your focus and reduce depression and anxiety.
With enough practice, mindfulness becomes second nature. Where you may have reacted to a situation with anger before, you may find yourself taking a step back,
Start with five minutes a day to close your eyes and breathe. Over time, increase your time by five minutes.
Yoga
Yoga is an amazing practice. Movement is excellent for the body to make you feel good. We live in a time where most of us are stationary for our days.
We may not get much movement in our lives at all. But movement is important to our health. It improves our mood, helps us sleep better, improves our energy levels and so much more.
Plus, some forms of yoga combine both meditation and mantra. Not only do you get the benefits of movement, but you get the positive effects from meditation and mantra as well.
Slow Down & Enjoy
There’s one thing that a lot of people outside the US find strange about American culture. We don’t take time to sit down with our beverage to appreciate it. With our fast-paced culture, we take everything on the go.
But there’s something to be said about being in the moment with a ritual we hold dear. And there is nothing more enjoyable than a beverage.
Whether it’s to start the day, to give a mid-day boost, or to wind down.
Take time to truly appreciate it.
We curate our teas for enjoyment for all the senses. From the time you open our tin, you’re greeted with the beautiful sight of our blends.
While waiting for it to steep, enjoy the aroma and take time to breathe. Incorporate your meditation, your favorite mantra, or even listen to soft music.
By the time you take the first sip, you may find yourself taking time to enjoy the complex notes.
Whatever your self love ritual, we would be honored to be a part of it. Check our store for your perfect tea and feel the love.
